Hillary may carry Iowa, but she can’t carry a tune

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

Sometimes you’ve just got to love the internet. This little beauty of Hillary murdering our national anthem is priceless. Not only is she horribly out of tune, but she gets the words wrong! And her people have had the nerve to call President Bush an idiot? Maybe they should look to their own first!

Hillary kills campaign finance reform

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

By opting out of public financing for her Presidential bid, she has forced the hands of every other candidate.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York became the first candidate since the program began in 1976 to forgo public financing for both the primary and the general election because of the spending limits that come with the federal money. By declaring her confidence that she could raise far more than the roughly $150 million the system would provide for the 2008 presidential primaries and general election, Mrs. Clinton makes it difficult for other serious candidates to participate in the system without putting themselves at a significant disadvantage.

It’s extremely hypocritical of Hillary to do this in light of Democratic support of McCain-Feingold. After all, it’s been primarily a Democrat issue. But what does this really mean? It means that there is almost no accountability to where the money is coming from. How long before a candidate is completely bought and paid for by a corporation, or a small group of individuals?

Hillary Clinton as the new Thatcher?

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

We think not. Are they serious? Here’s the skinny. A report in London’s Times Online quotes Terry McAuliffe (Hillary’s campaign chair) saying that Hillary’s campaign will compare her to Margaret Thatcher. Again we say: “Are they serious?” Here’s a quote from Margaret Thatcher -

We want a society where people are free to make choices, to make mistakes, to be generous and compassionate. This is what we mean by a moral society; not a society where the state is responsible for everything, and no one is responsible for the state.

Now, you tell us, does that sound anything like the Hillary Clinton we all know? Of course it doesn’t. McAuliffe even said so in his statement -

Their policies are totally different but they are both perceived as very tough. She is strong on foreign policy. People have got to know you are going to keep them safe.

Note the first line of his statement, “their policies are totally different”. Clinton’s campaign is only using the Thatcher comparison to make us think of Hillary as a strong leader. That’s it. Period. So where is this campaign going? We’re not sure. One moment they are trying to cast Hillary as a moderate, the next they are casting her as our Mother; and now they are trying to make us see her as a strong world leader. Hogwash, hooey, and horse-hockey! (Yeah we know they’re silly words, but we get tired of cursing sometimes :) )
Let’s jump back to a point overlooked by many people. Terry McAuliffe is her campaign chair. This is the same guy who was vilified by the Democratic party after the defeat of Kerry in ‘04. With idiotic statements like the one he just made, we can’t help but wonder how long he will be at the helm of the Clinton campaign.

Hillary Clinton finally declares white house run.

Is anyone at all surprised by this announcement? Further elaboration is redundant at this point. We’ll deal with the actual campaign in the next posting.

Are Hillary’s People behind Obama’s Muslim rumor?

Friday, January 19th, 2007

It’s an interesting thought. Earlier today, a report on the web surfaced indicating that Hillary’s camp was investigating Obama’s up-bringing. According to this report, there were questions about whether or not Obama attended a Madrassa while growing up in Indonesia. This report has yet to be confirmed, but we’re not sure that Hillary’s camp would unleash this sort of dirt this early in the campaign. But one never knows. There does seem to be a bit of desperation going on around the Clinton camp about the upsurge in Obama’s popularity. This has all but overshadowed Hillary’s attempt to appear Presidential by visiting Iraq. So, there could be some early test balloons being floated by lower echelon people. Right now, we just don’t know. We are certain however, as we’ve said before, this race WILL get nasty before it’s all said and done. Stay tuned…..

It’s Hillary, The Breck Girl, and now Osama, oops we mean Obama

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

It’s now a three way battle royal for Hillary’s impending ascension to the Democrat throne. (Yeah, we know there’s 3 others, but they really don’t matter, now do they?) Yesterday, Obama threw his hat into the ring, and now Hill is scrambling to bring the spotlight back on her. Instead of being able to talk about her latest attempt to appear Presidential (her trip to Iraq) she now must field questions about the most unqualified person EVER to attempt a white house run.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is throwing his hat into the ring for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. He’s the sixth Democrat to officially enter the race. Now, the focus is on Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), who remains officially un-declared — but not necessarily for long.

Obama’s announcement is seen as a direct challenge to Clinton. So much so that her staff is scrambling to reclaim the political initiative.

Fresh back from a trip to the Middle East, Clinton appeared on the major talk shows Wednesday morning, amid speculation that she would push forward the date of her announcement for president.

Hill and the Breck Girl get into a tuss up

Monday, January 15th, 2007

We’ve told you it could get ugly. We’re seriously hoping that it will, just for sheer entertainment’s sake. You’ve been warned. This 2008 presidential campaign is going to be the most expensive, nastiest, most commented on in our 231 year history. On ALL sides.
But since the Dems are up first, we get to amuse ourselves with their ramblings. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! The preliminary shots have been fired from the Hill and Breck camps.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton last night ripped into 2008 White House contender John Edwards - her first direct assault on any of her potential Democratic presidential rivals.
Clinton’s surprising broadside came just hours after Edwards, in Harlem, delivered a sharp condemnation - clearly aimed at Clinton, although he didn’t mention her by name - against those who fail to “speak out” against the war in Iraq.

Is Hillary’s star being outshined by Obama and the Breck girl?

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

It seems that the Breck girl and Obama are making temporary strides against the Hillary machine. We use the word “temporary”, because there is still sooooo much time before the caucuses actually begin. Give her and her machine time boys and girls.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s popularity in Democratic presidential-preference polls has fallen in the nation’s first caucus and primary states in the face of increasing support for her chief rivals for the 2008 nomination.
Pollsters said her weaknesses in Iowa and New Hampshire were the result of the growing popularity of two major opponents — former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama — and their populist economic messages, as well as a deepening antipathy toward her among Democratic-leaning independents who dislike her support for the war in Iraq and who question her electability.

Here’s looking at 2008!

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

Happy New Year everybody! We’re back from vacation, and we hope everyone had a nice calm holiday, because it’s going to be a bumpy ride from now until 2008. Strap in and get ready, because it’s going to get ugly. We’re ready to start firing on all cylinders as soon as Hillary declares, which by all accounts will be soon. So stay tuned…

We would be remiss not to mention the passing of President Ford. He took a tough job at a tough time in our country’s history. How many other President’s would have had the balls to do what he did in pardoning Nixon? Whether you agree or not, you have to admire his vision and guts to make that call. He believed he was right then, and by all accounts, he carried that belief to the grave. Well played sir!
