Hillary Clinton and John McCain shoot it out

Okay, well, they did do some shots together. According to a flash on Drudge, the two had quite a fun time on a congressional trip to Estonia. It’s interesting to see Hillary cozying up to Johnny Mac. We wonder what her game really is.

On a congressional trip to Estonia, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton astonished her traveling companions by suggesting the group do what one does in the Baltics: hold a vodka-drinking contest!

Delighted, the leader of the overseas delegation, Sen. John McCain, quickly agreed, the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Saturday.

Hillary Clinton votes no on interstate abortion bill

Don’t let the middle of the road Hillary fool you. She is still, at her core, a far Left Liberal. Evidence? Why, yes indeed. Just look at the vote in the US Senate to ban transporting a minor across state lines for an abortion without her parent’s consent:

- A bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit taking minors across State lines in circumvention of laws requiring the involvement of parents in abortion decisions.

Next time Hillary Clinton tries to convince some one that she is anyway in favor of life, We think she should be reminded about this vote. At least she’ll be able to keep her 100% rating by NARAL indicating her pro-choice voting record.

The Senate voted yesterday to make it a crime to take a pregnant girl across state lines to obtain an abortion without her parents’ knowledge, handing a long-sought victory to the Bush administration and abortion opponents.

The bill would help about three dozen states enforce laws that require minors to notify or obtain the consent of their parents before having an abortion. It would bar people — including clergy members and grandparents — from helping a girl travel to another state to avoid parental-involvement laws. Violations could result in a year in prison.

Most states have passed such laws, but courts have invalidated at least nine of them, advocacy groups say. Maryland and Virginia have parental-notification laws; the District does not. The Senate voted 65 to 34 to approve the bill, which is similar to one the House has approved before, including last year.

Stop doubting. Stop saying it’s only a possibility. Stop hiding your heads in the sand. Although she won’t formally announce it for another year, she’s running. Period. If she wasn’t, then the Hollywood idiots who all think they know something wouldn’t be putting up so much cash to her NY State Senate re-election campaign. It’s not like she needs it. She’s raised more than $43 million and has $22 million cash on hand. For a re-election race against candidates who can’t even raise enough money to by a cup of coffee? Please. Just look at the “A list” that is backing her financially. Obviously, they’re all hoping for a seat at an inaugural ball in 2009; or are they just stupid high school dropouts who make shitty movies? We think it’s both.

Top stars such as Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson donated to the New York senator in recent months, generating the kind of cash usually associated with a major box office opening _ or a potential presidential bid in 2008.

Clinton, who doesn’t face much of a challenge in her re-election, received $4,200 from “The DaVinci Code” star Hanks, the Academy Award- winning actor, and his wife, Rita Wilson…

The records also provided a tantalizing clue for would-be Clinton sleuths that she’s serious about a White House run: two bills for unidentified campaign worker travel at the Hampton Inn in Des Moines, Iowa, the state with the first caucus in the presidential nomination process…

Hillary Clinton and Rupert Murdoch. Hmmmm…..

Seems like the Rupert Murdoch’s long awaited fundraiser for Hillary Clinton took place. But surprise surprise, the media wasn’t invited. Strange isn’t it, that FOX news didn’t get to cover the event exclusively? Why all the secrecy? Could it be, that once word gets out, Fox’s already tumbling ratings will continue to crash as the viewership turns it back on the duplicitous Rupert Murdoch? That remains to be seen…

Two of the most public people in the world had a chummy breakfast yesterday, but media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) tried to keep their political get-together as secret as possible.
There were no Fox News cameras to record the odd couple breaking bread together at Murdoch’s News Corp. headquarters in midtown, where, after years of attacking her, the conservative Murdoch hosted a fund-raiser for Clinton’s Democratic Senate campaign.

The campaign refused to even confirm the time or location of the controversial fund-raiser. No estimate of the take or number of people who attended was released….

Hillary thinks Dems are wasting time

Wasting time doing what Hillary? Let us guess, they’re not spending enough time promoting you? Or are they actually fighting causes they believe in? That would be a new one for Hillary Clinton, actually standing up for something she believes in, instead of finding out what a focus group thinks first. But that might expose her true self to the electorate, and we can’t have that now can we?

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, returning to her red-state ties, chastised Democrats Saturday for taking on issues that arouse conservatives and turn out Republican voters rather than finding consensus on mainstream subjects.

Without mentioning specific subjects like gay marriage, Mrs. Clinton said: “We do things that are controversial. We do things that try to inflame their base.”

“We are wasting time,” the senator told a group of Democratic women here, on part of a two-day swing through a state that could provide an alternate hub to New York if she starts a national political campaign.

Are Democrats beginning to wise up?

To those of you e-mail us and post comments wondering why we are constantly, choose you verb here (bashing, hating on, picking on, slamming, etc.) Hillary Clinton; has it ever crossed your minds that we have been right all along? No? Never? Not even once? Well, maybe yo need to get out more. This little piece comes from The Hufington Post of all places.

In the past six weeks, I’ve shaken the hands of thousands of New Yorkers… It became quite clear that many supporters of Hillary Clinton have no idea what she actually believes in or what she has actually done. Her support is the prime political example of celebrity culture in America: we know nothing about what someone believes or who they really are; the media helps spin an image, carefully managed and orchestrated by our celebrity’s handlers; and, then, we are shocked, shocked when we find that JenLo or Brittany or Hillary aren’t what we expected. I suppose we can have a bit of tolerance for fiction when it comes to actors and athletes. But, when we are talking about war and peace, our economic future and basic principles like the First Amendment, the celebrity charade must be challenged.

Now, granted, Tasini is running against Hillary for New York Senate, but take a gander at some of the comments from the Left:

It was amusing — or I should say it would have been amusing if it weren’t so infuriating — to read in this morning’s NY Times that candidate Clinton is receiving thousands of dollars from the health care industry. Who HASN’T she sold out to?

I can only hope that primary challenges become more common against incumbents in both parties. An honest debate on the issues and a defense of one’s record in Congress is important to keep politicians connected to the voters, instead of the donors.

Incumbents are winning over 95% of the time. I wish it were not so, because lots of people think Hillary deserves to lose. With a solid candidate running against her, her arguement will be: Down the road I can beat any Republican presidential nominee (aside: I am a Trojan Horse. Trust me! When I get in you’ll see the real me).
For my money this is the real Hillary. And I don’t think she can beat anybody for president in ‘08. Let’s get rid of her now.

This is but a small sample. And these people aren’t even in the VRWC :)

Is Hillary Clinton in 2008 election panic?

It seems we were a bit off in our piece below - Carville thinks Hillary can win in 2008. We thought he was bucking for a job. According to Deborah Orin at The New York Post, he already has one; schilling for Hillary to buck up her liberal image before the impending 2008 campaign.

SUDDENLY, it looks as if Hillary Clinton is running scared over 2008.
A batch of Hillaryland moves over the past few weeks suggests a nervous- Nellie president wannabe rather than a confident Democratic front-runner. She hired a lefty blogger and cozied up to anti-war activists by pledging to desert pal Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) if he loses a primary over Iraq and runs as an independent….

The most bizarre move was having her pollster, Mark Penn, and longtime Clintonite James Carville write a defensive-sounding Washington Post weekend op-ed piece insisting “she can win” in 2008.

Could it be that her flirtation with the Right, in order to seem more Middle, has caused the Left to abandon her? We’ve been telling you all along not to believe what you see and hear from her. Maybe, just maybe, somebody else is starting to listen.

Carville thinks Hillary can win in 2008

First, he brought us the “Slick Willie Burlesque Show”, which we all had to endure for 8 years; and now he wants to bring us the sequel. Only this time, he wants the head circus clown to be Hillary Clinton. And he thinks she can win too. Just check out the ridiculous spin that dribbles out of his mouth.

For those who think that the politics of personal destruction might be rekindled against Hillary or her husband, we can only remind people how consistently that approach has backfired in the past. Bill Clinton would certainly be a huge asset if Hillary decided to run…

Hillary’s candidacy has the potential to reshape the electoral map for Democrats. Others argue they can add to John Kerry’s 20 states and 252 electoral votes by adding Southern states, or Western or Midwestern, depending on their background. Hillary has the potential to mobilize people in every region of the country…

Finally, for those who believe that Hillary’s electoral chances are tied to ideology, not leadership qualities, we believe that she is squarely in the mainstream of America…
