The Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies

In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness…

Ex-Green Party Member to Challenge Hillary

Boy, isn’t this interesting? We might actually have to throw our support behing a “Green Party” candidate in the hopes of derailing Hillary a bit. Not that this guy really stands a chance against the mighty Clinton machine, but let’s see what he’s got to offer.

ALBANY, N.Y. Nov 27, 2005 — A former Green Party member who advocates an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq says he will challenge incumbent Hillary Rodham Clinton for the 2006 Democratic nomination for Senate.

“She’s in favor of the war and in favor of continuing the occupation,” Steven Greenfield, a professional saxophone player, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from his New Paltz home.

A senior adviser to Clinton, Howard Wolfson, declined to comment on Greenfield’s declaration.

Hillary’s people not commenting? Now’s there’s a new one. Why should they ever comment on anything, when she refuses to? When was the last time that Hillary sat down for a real interview and allowed someone to ask unscripted questions? How about NEVER!

Just a little deviation from our main topic, but we feel this is very important. We picked up this commentary over at RedState.org about HR 4194. For those of you who do not know about it, we suggest you read on, especially if you are a member of the blogesphere.

The campaign finance regulation lobby is trying to muddy the waters by offering a sham alternative to the Online Freedom of Speech Act. Their bill is HR 4194, and they’re trying to convince the Congress that it provides protection for online speech…
In response - the Online Coalition is asking the 3000+ bloggers and activists that signed on to our early comments to the FEC to light up the phones on Capitol Hill …
